Walking your dog is a very important part of your dog's day. Cesar Milan, advises that you walk your dog at least two times a day, for at least thirty to forty-five minutes each time. This helps not only to give the dog's body a work out, but also their mind.
When walking your dog it's also important that you are the leader versus your dog. What this means is making sure your dog is walking either next to you or behind you, not pulling ahead of you. If the dog is leading, it sees itself as the pack leader at that moment which means you are not in control.
To be a good dog owner or leader, it's important that you set the pace and the agenda for the walk. Providing that leadership will allow the dogs to look to you for direction and reduce the potential of them acting out.
Happy Dog Walking!
